Sulfate reducing bacteria feed upon sulfur based compounds including sulfate, sulfite, elemental sulfur and thiosulfate.  They produce hydrogen sulfide as a by-product, so the "rotten egg odor" is often an indication that these bacteria are present.  Other indications include blackening of the water or black slime formed in the back of the toilet tank.  This test requires Next Day Return Shipping.

NOT included in the test kit is the return shipping of the water sample.  We will be happy to extend our UPS rates to you.  Just call us before you are ready to collect your sample and we can email a return label at that time.  If you're unsure as to how to collect the sample call us to schedule one of our techs to come out to the subject property and collect sample for you.

If you are performing this test to meet a regulatory requirement or if you believe your results may be used for litigation purposes, please contact us for more information about testing packages designed for those purposes along with inspection reports to document scenario.
